In Karolinchen – the third game in Zoch's "worm family" after Da ist der Wurm drin and Streifen Toni – the player worms must crawl and eat through the orchard, eating different fruits to grow faster than their friends. In the game, each player starts with the head of a worm (with a pawn on it) and a different color of fruit, plus a set of cards with a certain number of fruits on one side and a section of the growing worm on the other side.
